Research Outline

Based on the research on optimization techniques including robust optimization, evolutionary computation and reinforcement learning, we are conducting research on energy management systems which make the best use of renewable energy sources and optimize the electrical power supply and demand. The targets include: optimal planning of thermal and pumping-up power stations to cope with variations of renewable energy generation, optimal power trading for power producer-suppliers, electricity consumption data analysis and suitable recommendation for consumers aiming at effective demand responses, regionally self-contained power systems, and service restoration of distribution networks under the influence of photovoltaic generation.
